After painting many trees of
similar, familiar greens, I once came across a tree with a subtle mint hue —
its freshness struck me deeply, and I immediately felt the urge to paint it.

In my work, nature represents the
Other — entities beyond the human self.I
began to question whether depicting only the same, conventional kinds of trees
might diminish that meaning. This encounter reminded me of the importance of
portraying nature’s diversity, as a way to
suggest the existence of many forms of Otherness.

From this thought, I have started
to expand my imagery beyond trees — toward stones, strata, and tree rings —
seeking to capture the countless ways in which nature reflects and reshapes the
human condition.
