YANGHEE CHANG
This work depicts a tree standing
before a building wall, where the contrast of green and orange—whether leaf or
flower—first caught my eye.
I was drawn to the balance of
opposing colours, exploring how complementary hues can create harmony and unity
within tension.
Painted faithfully from a
photograph, the scene reflects my growing interest in dense, detailed imagery
built through countless small touches. Although I once avoided floral subjects
for fear of cliché, my recent works embrace them as expressions of nature’s
quiet diversity, rather than mere beauty.
