YANGHEE CHANG
Inspired by wild, untrimmed flowers
along a roadside in Jeju Island, this work combines a human figure engraved
above the blooms to suggest a quiet dialogue between nature and existence.
The diagonal stems evoke a sense of
wind and motion, lending the scene a subtle vitality. Painted faithfully from a
photograph, it reflects my growing interest in dense, detailed compositions
built through layered touches.
Once
hesitant to paint flowers for fear of cliché, I now approach them not for
beauty, but to express the raw diversity and living energy of nature.
